8 & Under Levels:

  1. Starfish – 8 & Under

    1. Learn:

      1. Gradual water adaptation

      2. Breath holding/release

      3. Submersion of face

      4. Open eyes underwater

      5. Blow bubbles

      6. Bobbing with bubbles

      7. Front float and recovery

      8. Back float and recovery

    2. Master:

      1. Ten relaxed bobs

      2. Front float: 10 seconds

      3. Back float: 10 seconds

  2. Seahorse – 8 & Under

    1. Learn:

      1. Front streamline kick

      2. Back streamline kick

      3. Freestyle arms 

      4. Freestyle swimming

    2. Master:

      1. Front streamline kick: flags

      2. Back streamline kick: flags

      3. Freestyle: 12.5 yards no breath

9 & Older Levels:

  1. Otter – 9 & Older

    1. Learn:

      1. Gradual water adaptation

      2. Breath holding/release

      3. Submersion of face

      4. Open eyes underwater

      5. Blow bubbles

      6. Bobbing with bubbles

      7. Front float and recovery

      8. Back float and recovery

    2. Master:

      1. Ten relaxed bobs

      2. Front float: 10 seconds

      3. Back float: 10 seconds

  2. Seal – 9 & Older

    1. Learn:

      1. Front streamline kick

      2. Back streamline kick

      3. Freestyle arms 

      4. Freestyle swimming

    2. Master:

      1. Front streamline kick: flags

      2. Back streamline kick: flags

      3. Freestyle: 12.5 yards no breath

Advanced Level:

  1. Shark – Recommended for 8 & Older Advanced Swimmers

    1. Learn:

      1. Freestyle with side breathing

      2. Tread water in place

      3. Dolphin kick

      4. Sitting and kneeling dives

      5. Backstroke

      6. Freestyle flip turn

      7. Backstroke flip turn

    2. Master:

      1. Freestyle with side breathing:

      2. 12.5 yards with 4 or more breaths

      3. Tread water: 1 minute

      4. Kneeling dive

      5. Dolphin kick: 12.5 yards

      6. Freestyle: 25 yards

      7. Freestyle flip turns: 3

      8. Backstroke: 12.5 yards

      9. Backstroke flip turns: 3

      10. Dolphin kick: 25 yards
